STUDIO: Sarah of Blooming Felt
This week are heading to the very colourful workspace of Sarah from Blooming Felt. Sarah not only creates her own felt pieces, she also sells supplies to other crafters.

The Blooming Felt Studio is a beautiful log cabin type building - some people like to call it a shed - at the bottom of my garden.
When decorating the Studio, I decided to use predominantly white walls and furniture. This is because all of my supplies are such bright colours that I felt it would show them all off perfectly and it would also make it easier for me to pick out the individual colours when I needed them.

I had a giant table custom made to go into the centre of the room. It sits on 4 open fronted units which hold the packaging and posting supplies, colour charts, stationery supplies and other stuff that isn't pretty enough to be on display !
The rest of the room is furnished with white Ikea units. I would much rather have had vintage pieces in the studio, but for storage purposes it sadly wasn't practical. It's also much easier for me to add to the display units by using Ikea pieces.

Down one side of the studio is a complete run of open fronted storage units which house all of my jars of felt balls, hearts, stars and pebbles, felt sheets, felting wool, books and kits. The other side of the studio has windows and beneath these I have lots of Ikea children's drawer units. These are great because they have deep drawers and these are all divided up to hold my button supplies, ribbons, flat pad findings, waxed cotton cord etc. Then on one of the walls I have some "floating" shelves and these display lots of my samples.
My favourite part of the studio are the open fronted units as they hold all of my colourful felt supplies and it makes me smile everytime I go into the studio and see these. You can't be sad or grumpy for long working in such a colourful environment !

For me the most important part of the studio is the giant table and this is purely because it's where I do all of my creating and also all of the packing for the website orders.
The bright colours make it such a cheerful place to be, even on a rainy winter's day!

wow!
so lovely to see the workspace behind Blooming Felt! I have bought quite a few things from Sarah and it's nice to see where those products come from - I am very jealous of her cabin :)
So so organized!
Love the organization, one who's at peace with the world and knows where everything, but everything is I think!
WOW!
What a fantastic space!! How lovely to work in such an inspiring environment!
Right, I'm off to tidy up my glass studio now. Don't think I'll be able to match your levels of brightness, but I'll have a good go!
