STUDIO: Laura Hunter

I Love Crafty is a little shop I set up just over a year ago in Bristol that sells handmade gifts from a variety of local crafters and artists, as well as making crafty things too! When I opened up it was important to me to be able to make things here so I've got my little crafty corner next to the till and window so customers can peer in and watch what's being made.

In my shop I make cushions, bunting, doggy draft excluders, door stops and vintage inspired aprons with lots of help from my little pink sewing machine Priscilla! She may be small but manages everything I throw at her and she pulls in a crowd.

I also make jewellery on my little crafty desk. Customers love seeing gifts being made there and often ask what's next in my list. I love getting people involved and often give one on one tutorials that includes lots of tea and chats!

Customers love seeing me using my pink sewing machine. We share ideas, tips and I make to order, plus I tend to sing when I sew (sorry)! I also love embroidery and it always gets lots of comments as customers aren't used to seeing someone embroider in a shop! They are so supportive and love the selection of handmade goodies we have and can't believe how many crafty people are in Bristol! Its a magical place to work and visit!
