FOCUS: Beekeeper's Quilt Charity Prize Competition WINNER!

Many thanks to everyone who took part in our Charity Beekeeper's Quilt competition! You have all played an integral part in making what started as a little idea first mentioned in a Beekeeper's Quilt Knit Along Group into a reality. It's been great to be able to run a competition like this which is both fun and raises money for NACRO (the crime prevention charity).

An extra special thanks goes out to all the amazing knitters from around the world who contributed hexipuffs without whom this competition would not have been possible. We have found the knitting community to be the warmest and most supportive we have ever encountered! We'd also like to give a HUGE shout out to Suzanne Stallard of jelly for organising and running the Hexipuff Department and hosting the wonderful stitchathon sewing evening at jelly's HQ in Reading.

So, without further ado, we have checked through all the entries and there were a staggering number of correct answers to our specialist question:

How many miles do you think an average hive of bees fly to make 1 kg of honey?

The correct answer was: 90,000 (B)

We are pleased to announce that the lucky winner (chosen by random number generator) is:

Lezley Forster from Exeter

Congratulations!!

The finished Beekeeper's Quilt and a Tiny Owl Knits knitting pattern will be making its way to Lezley this week!

We will be counting up all the money raised and announcing the grand total raised for NACRO in the Spring 2012 issue of UK Handmade magazine which will be released online on 1st March 2012 so keep an eye out!

Congratulations to Lezley! The quilt looks amazing, I shall just have to keep knitting my hexipuffs. One day I'll have my own!
